Branded Packaging Elements for Fulfillment Systems

One thing that brands are starting to do, is they are offering fulfillment of products. While expedited shipping is now a given, this also means that those who are doing fulfillment need to produce more than a higher amount of orders to process, and the automated systems that are there must keep up with this. A lot of custom packaging struggles with being automated, but here are a few things that you can do to make it properly branded when you’re letting fulfillment centers take care of handling the orders.

Special Inserts

Remember, you control what’s inside your box. While you may have some fulfillment and packaging, you’ll definitely want to look at the different options, and are interested in a branded sort of aspect. Coupons, flyers, and cards go far if you’re looking to also offer a nice little surprise.  You will need to change the way things are fulfilled, it doesn’t change the picking, conveyance, or the labels and printing. This is very cost-effective too, as it usually is not that hard to add this to most packaging, and there isn’t anything added extra to the feeds due to the coupon’s weight.

Branded Boxes

For those who ship a lot of boxes and usually need to offer more protection along the outside, another way is to add protection around the inside. This can be the packaging inside, and the cool thing is, while the outer packaging may stay bland and unbranded, the inside doesn’t have to be.,

You can add different custom containers, bags, or even envelopes that work with the design, and you can make it eye-catching, and something that competitors aren’t directly looking for.

Colorful Dunnage

Another thing that you can make special and branded, is the dunnage. This is that packaging that's within the package itself, and it’s the buffer that's between your product and the shipping box outside of there. It's used to protect said products from the loading and unloading when they’re transported, as this can sometimes knock them around.

The thing with dunnage though, is while you normally use this for the sole reason of making sure products get transported correctly, that doesn't mean you have to make it ugly. You can make them colorful, branded, and also give the customers something exciting for them to open up when they do get the item.

You can’t really do this with all types of different dunnage, and usually, you have to look at the colors of the products for this to work. For most SMBs, this is usually something that you can manually do, and usually, this is why the custom packaging is usually better with this. There may be ways for you to add to their 3PL the use of these types of colors that are there. Even just adding some tissue paper that’s branded and your colors adds a unique touch. You can also get custom paper that’s in the colors of the brand.

Best way is Boxes

If your packaging system can handle it, just get some custom boxes. These are the simplest ways, and also look the best. A lot of people don’t realize just how easy it is for you to create this, and you’ll also be able to, with this as well, craft the ultimate strategy for your boxes. If you’re looking to add this to fulfillment, remember that the simpler, the better, and sometimes, you don’t have to do much to make this work, but instead, add a couple of personal touches for this to really stand out and look good for you as well.
